Have Mercy!

I wrote this post while participating in a blog tour conducted by Clever Girls on behalf of Dannon. I have been compensated for my time commitment to the program but my opinions are my own. For more information and recipe ideas, visit www.oikosyogurt.com or www.Facebook.com/oikos. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do.

When I was given the opportunity to review Oikos Greek Yogurt my first thought was. . . Uncle Jesse. I love him. I hoped that in opening the yogurt maybe my bedroom would fill with billowing white curtains and fat lit white candles and he would serenade me with moody eyes and perfect bed head. Side Note: Dads are hot. Acid washed jeans will forever work on some men. I am endlessly jealous of Aunt Becky.

Something like this. . .

OK- so eating the yogurt wasn't quite like that. But it was pretty spectacular. Thick and creamy, the vanilla flavor won Charlie and Nolie over in a heartbeat. It pretty  much tastes like ice cream or some super wonderful dessert that won't make your teeth ache with sugar or cold overload (side eye: ice cream). I am a fan of plain yogurt and this one was above and beyond. I added a bunch of cinnamon to it and was very satisfied by it. I would venture to say this is my favorite greek yogurt we have tried (and  we have tried a lot).

Another great way to use greek yogurt is as a substitute for sour cream. We don't buy sour cream at all (ew, gelatin on my tacos? I reserve that for my s'mores.) and so the extra thickness of Oikos is a big selling point for our family. Oh! It is also super great in smoothies. The authentic greek straining method makes it far more smooth and less watery than other greek yogurts so none of that weird standing water on the top that you have to mix in or pour out. Nolie and I have been sharing a VERY green smoothie every morning and adding a few scoops of vanilla to it made the kale and mustard greens totally covered by creamy sweetness.

I would totally buy more of this yogurt and plan to as soon as we can get to a regular grocery store (we typically shop at TJ's and they don't carry this). It is easily added to most of our meals and makes for a protein rich breakfast for me and that helps SO much with feeling sick in the mornings (thanks first trimester, punk). Not to mention, there is hardly anything that is endorsed by Uncle Jesse that I wouldn't love. That man is incredible. . .
Then... I imagine he just got done using that sweet comb he kept behind his guitar in that perfectly Elvis decorated upstairs bedroom.

And now... devilishly handsome- better groomed and dressed than he used to be but still having that perfect  moody man look. Sigh.

John Stamos-  I am buying what you are selling.
